picture1All hands on deck! Kathy Russell, Greenway Manager, has asked for volunteers to help cut back some brush and overhanging branches on a short .8-mile (eight tenths of a mile) stretch of the North Greenway Trail. We will work in 2-hour increments beginning at 8:30-10:30 am and again 4:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 21.

Why by hand? This method produces less disturbance to sensitive plants and animals.

Kathy will supply drinking water and some tools, but if you have loppers, hand clippers, gloves, small saws, and machetes of your own please bring them. Also, wear protective clothing – long pants and sleeves – and apply bug spray. We’ll also have a flatbed truck with us to use to reach higher limbs and to carry away any invasive plants we might trim away.

Bring your bathing suit and towel and take a free swim in the Rec Center pool after the shift!

Please respond through email to Anna or through Facebook Messenger (Anna Maria Occhuizzo) and let AIEK know your shift preference.
